I am a fully trained counsellor based in Kirkby Lonsdale and Sedbergh, in the South Lakeland District of Cumbria. I work with many local people to help improve their mental health and wellbeing, often during very difficult and demanding times.

I bring considerable experience of one-to-one counselling with individuals from the age of 16 years. I am professionally accredited with the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) and adhere to their Code of Ethics.

Over the years, I have helped clients with a range of problems including relationship difficulties, bereavement, loss, anxiety, identity, trauma, PTSD, work related issues, childhood abuse, self esteem and depression.

Talking about your issues and concerns – and being listened to –  in a counselling relationship offers a different way of looking at life and can bring about positive change, at any age. You may be feeling nervous about seeing a counsellor and unsure whether you are ready to talk about the difficulties you are facing or the painful feelings they evoke. Or, perhaps, it’s crunch time, and you are in emotional turmoil with your back against the wall uncertain about what to do. Whatever your predicament or concern, I offer a safe, supportive and non judgemental space to help you to both explore and confront these painful (and often complex) issues, and ultimately to move forward with your life.
